Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has highlighted the state鈥檚 efforts to enhance transportation connectivity by expanding Metro Rail and Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) projects in collaboration with the central government. The Chief Minister emphasized the significance of Haryana鈥檚 proximity to Delhi and its impact on business and daily commutes for many residents. In a meeting with Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs, Manohar Lal Khattar, on Tuesday, multiple infrastructure projects were discussed, including plans for extending the Metro and RRTS networks. Various studies have been approved to assess the feasibility of these proposals. Key Projects and Studies The discussions primarily focused on connecting important hubs like the Delhi airport with Gurugram, Faridabad, and the Jewar airport via the RRTS. Additionally, plans to extend RRTS from Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi to Karnal, as well as establishing a Metro line from Gurugram to AIIMS in Badhsa, are underway. Under the Union Minister's leadership, Haryana will undoubtedly benefit from these infrastructure developments, Chief Minister Saini said, stressing the importance of improving public transport and boosting regional growth. Additional Proposals Khattar also revealed that studies would be conducted to explore a Metro link between Palam Vihar in Gurugram and the Delhi airport, alongside potential lines connecting Bahadurgarh-Asoda, Ballabhgarh-Palwal, and Gurugram Sector-9 to AIIMS Badhsa. Furthermore, a proposal is in development to extend the RRTS route from Sarai Kale Khan to Panipat, Karnal, Dharuhera, Bawal, and Rajasthan鈥檚 Shahjahanpur. A separate feasibility study will examine the potential for an RRTS line between Gurugram and Faridabad, as current Metro plans are not viable. Lastly, the Haryana government will bear the cost of extending the Gurugram Metro line from Sector-56 to Panchgaon, further boosting regional connectivity. These projects aim to significantly reduce commute times, support economic growth, and facilitate smoother travel between Haryana and Delhi. With a focus on modern infrastructure, the state is set to become a key transit hub in the NCR region.
