MEIL Receives Purchase Order for Nuclear Power Project from NPCIL

Megha Engineering & Infrastructure Ltd. (MEIL) has formally received the Purchase Order for a Rs 128 billion EPC contract from the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) to construct two 700 MWe nuclear reactors鈥擪aiga Units 5 & 6鈥攊n Karnataka. This is the biggest-ever order placed by NPCIL and marks MEIL鈥檚 first major step into the nuclear energy sector鈥攁 field that will help shape India鈥檚 energy future.

The order was formally handed over at NPCIL鈥檚 Mumbai headquarters to Shri Ch. P. Subbaiah, Director, MEIL (Projects), and his team. It was not just a professional achievement but a moment filled with pride, recognition, and a deep sense of responsibility. For the first time, NPCIL used the Quality-cum-Cost-Based Selection (QCBS) method for awarding this project鈥攕triking a careful balance between quality and cost.

Indian Railways Clears Survey for New Line in Sikkim

The Ministry of Railways has approved a Final Location Survey for a proposed railway line in Sikkim, connecting Melli to Dentam via Jorethang and Legship.
