PM Shehbaz Sharif: A New Era of Pakistan-China Cooperation Begins

Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced the beginning of a new era of Pakistan-China cooperation in the information technology, communication, mining, and energy sectors, emphasizing that it would drive economic development and strengthen their longstanding bilateral relationship. Sharif made these remarks while chairing a review meeting in Islamabad to discuss the implementation of agreements and Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) reached during his recent visit to China, as reported by Radio Pakistan.

Sharif highlighted that enhancing cooperation in these sectors would bolster economic growth, reinforce regional ties, and deepen the friendship between Pakistan and China. He referred to the enduring Pak-China friendship, noting that China had consistently supported Pakistan in challenging times. Sharif pointed out China's rise as a formidable economic power and suggested that Pakistan could follow its development model.

The 72-year-old Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader stressed that any disruptions in the execution of the agreements and MoUs signed during his visit would not be tolerated. He committed to personally overseeing the implementation of these agreements to ensure their success.

During the meeting, Sharif was briefed about a recent visit by a delegation of Chinese shoemaking companies to Pakistan. These companies plan to relocate their manufacturing units to Pakistan, which is currently facing economic difficulties. It was reported that the Chinese companies could potentially invest between $ 5-8 billion in this sector.
