President of India Addresses Slovakia-India Business Forum

On the second day of her official visit to Slovakia (10 April 2025), President of India Smt Droupadi Murmu addressed the Slovakia-India Business Forum in Bratislava, emphasising the importance of expanding economic cooperation and inviting Slovak companies to participate in the 鈥楳ake in India鈥� initiative.

In her address, the President noted that India and Slovakia share a long-standing friendship, with growing cooperation across diverse sectors. She encouraged both sides to broaden their trade basket, especially as India experiences a phase of profound transformation in technology, innovation, and sustainability.

President Murmu highlighted India鈥檚 advancements in renewable energy, digital technology, telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, space and fintech, stating that the nation is on course to becoming a $5 trillion economy, with global partnerships鈥攊ncluding Slovakia鈥攑laying a key role in that journey.

She observed that Slovakia鈥檚 robust industrial base and strategic European position make it an ideal partner for India鈥檚 dynamic, large-scale consumer market and thriving start-up ecosystem. As a hub for automotive, defence, and high-tech industries, Slovakia could benefit immensely from greater engagement with India.

The President described the Forum as a vital platform for identifying synergies and building mutually beneficial partnerships. She expressed confidence that the deliberations would translate into enduring cooperation and concrete outcomes.
