Tamil Nadu signs MoU worth 1.4 trillion

By signing MoUs with 60 enterprises, laying foundation stones, and inaugurating new projects, Tamil Nadu has secured investments totaling Rs 1.44 trillion.

It's envisaged that the projects will generate 74,898 jobs. A Rs 52,000 crore green hydrogen and ammonia facility by ACME Green Hydrogen in Thoothukudi, a Rs 3,000 crore 4-gigawatt (GW) cell and 4 GW solar module manufacturing unit by Tata Power, a Rs 3,000 crore lithium ion cell unit by Lucas TVS, and a Rs 2,000 crore chemicals and ceramic tile manufacturing facility by Aravind Ceramics are some of the major investment agreements.

A total of 21 projects with a total investment commitment of Rs 22,252 crore and employment potential for roughly 17,654 people were also officially launched by Chief Minister M K Stalin. This includes an IT and data centre unit by L&T at Rs 3,500 crore, a data centre by Sify Technologies worth Rs 2,500 crore, a data centre by CtrlS worth Rs 1,448 crore, and a garment unit by Jay Jay Mills worth over Rs 500 crore. Of the 60 MoUs that were signed, 53 were facilitation agreements with a potential investment of Rs 65,373 crore and 58,478 job creations.
