Ukrainian drones targeted an oil storage facility in Russia's southern Rostov region, igniting a large fuel fire, according to the local governor. Videos shared on social media showed thick black smoke and bursts of flames at the site of the fire, which the governor identified as being in the town of Proletarsk. Governor Vasily Golubev reported on Telegram that air defences in the south-east of the Rostov region had repelled a drone attack. However, debris from the drones fell on the industrial storage facilities in Proletarsk, causing a diesel fuel fire. He added that at 05:35 (0235 GMT), firefighting efforts at the industrial facility were temporarily halted due to a second drone attack. No injuries were reported, and firefighting operations resumed shortly afterwards. The Ukrainian army claimed responsibility for the attack, stating that it had targeted the Kavkaz oil and petroleum storage facility in the Rostov region. The facility was said to store oil and petroleum products supplied to the Russian occupation army, with the attack being part of ongoing efforts to undermine the military-economic potential of the Russian Federation. Proletarsk is located approximately 250 kilometres (155 miles) from the Ukrainian border and about 350 kilometres from the areas of fighting on the eastern Ukrainian frontline under Kyiv's control.
