In a historic achievement, renowned Indian journalist Vineet Malhotra has become the first Indian journalist to receive the prestigious People's Award for International Media at the House of Commons in London, UK. This significant recognition highlights his outstanding contributions to global journalism and establishes him as a prominent voice in the industry.

The 17th edition of the People's Award ceremony celebrated excellence in public and political life, with a distinguished panel of judges selecting the awardees. Vineet Malhotra was honored alongside notable personalities, including Ugandan Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Mr. Henry Oryem Okello, Member of the House of Lords Lord Rami Ranger, Member of Parliament Mrs. Rupa Huq, Member of Parliament Mr. Kit Malthouse, and Lord Shaun Bailey of Paddington, among others.

Formerly known as The Political and Public Life Awards, the People's Award has been rebranded to acknowledge the remarkable impact of its recipients on communities worldwide. This prestigious honor is presented to individuals who demonstrate service, excellence, and dedication, leaving a lasting legacy. Previous recipients include prominent figures such as former UK Prime Minister David Cameron, Mayor of London Sadiq Khan, Journalist of the Year Jon Craig, and Civil Rights Leader Rev Jesse Jackson.

In his acceptance speech, Mr. Malhotra emphasized the critical role of journalism, stating:
