Construction is becoming more connected

Construction technology has gone through a digital transformation in the past 10 years with the advent of Artificial Intelligence, powerful BIM modelling software, cloud-enabled collaboration, drones and robotics. All of these innovations that have collectively transformed the industry are now coming together to form what is known as Connected Construction, which is able to connect all diverse construction workflows digitally and seamlessly.

Today, every construction process is connected to each other and contractors can operate like much of the rest of the global economy - in the cloud, leveraging real-time tools and workflows to make faster and more accurate decisions.

Further, connected construction helps contractors and construction teams improve their communications, exercise greater control over project delivery and timelines and even enhance the safety of the worksite for all workers. It is also a much superior alternative to manual information-gathering processes or using disconnected software solutions that bog down project supervisors and delay decision-making.

To demonstrate the power of connected construction and educate construction professionals on how they can embrace digital and connected construction, Trimble is hosting Tekla Users Day (TUD) 2022 this week. The second interregional and virtual edition of TUD will bring together senior construction professionals and technology users from India and Middle East together on a single platform. Over 8,000 delegates are expected to attend TUD this year; making it a much bigger event than last year when 6,500 delegates had attended.

TUD 2022 will introduce all attendees to the immersive world of Digital Construction, that is connected, constructible and content-enabled. The two day virtual event will have a clear focus on explaining different aspects of digital construction through a series of workshops, demonstrations and panel discussions. Further, special addresses by senior industry professionals and Tekla representatives will enumerate the benefits of digital construction for superior planning and execution, for even the most complex construction projects.

TUD is Trimble鈥檚 annual user conference for the construction industry professionals that allow the latter to learn the latest in construction technologies through workshops and demonstrations, network with their peers from different companies and even different countries, and understand the benefits of connected construction through real-life case studies of some of the world鈥檚 best projects being executed.

What to expect from TUD 2022:
TUD 2022 has already seen over 8,000 participants register from both India and Middle East for the two-day event. The participants this year will attend and learn from Content Enabled Sessions, along with detailed information about some key projects utilizing connected construction from both regions.

The topics for sessions or panel discussions include 鈥楤IM, Data Science, AI and Machine Learning for decision-making in construction鈥; 鈥楶roductivity with rebar鈥; 鈥楴ewaddons and extensions of Tekla Warehouse鈥; 鈥楽ustainable impact of paperless organizations鈥; and 鈥楻obotics as the future of construction鈥. Speakers from leading organisations including Tata Consulting Engineers, WSP, 3DE Global, Pinnacle Infotech, Design Excellence, Korus Engineering, MACE, Navatech Group, WiiPlan, DICOTRA Tech, and others will address the delegates.

Even though the event is being hosted virtually, the participants will still be able to network with fellow attendees and even speak directly to experts from Tekla to address any of their queries at the specially designed virtual booths. Further, they will also get a chance to participate and win prizes in interactive quiz games and competitions.

Industry events like TUD 2022 are a must-attend for forward looking construction professionals as they provide a rare opportunity to upgrade their technology knowledge and skills, and also simultaneously learn from the best in industry practices from senior professionals and experts. With a focus on digital construction; the TUD 2022 promises to offer an introduction to all that connected construction has to offer to the construction industry.
