JSW Steel starts production at Dolvi plant in Maharashtra

JSW Steel has commenced production of hot-rolled plates in the new 5 million tonne per annum (mtpa) hot strip mill facility at its Dolvi Works plant in Maharashtra.

In a BSE filing, the company said it commenced production of hot-rolled plates in the new 5 mtpa hot strip mill facility at the Dolvi Works facility on 31 March 2021.

JSW Steel is in the process of doubling its capacity to 10 mtpa with an investment of around Rs 15,000 crore.

JSW Dolvi Works is India's first to adopt a combination of Conarc technology for both steel-making and compact strip production, aiding the production of hot-rolled coils. From automotive and industrial to consumer durables, the Dolvi facility manufactures products that meet industrial needs across sectors.

Located on the west coast at Dolvi in Maharashtra, the plant is JSW Steel's integrated steel plant having a current capacity of 5 mtpa. It is connected to a jetty that can handle cargo of up to 15 mtpa.
