SHLCA clears 13 projects

The State High Level Clearance Authority (SHLCA) headed by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has given clearance to 13 projects, entailing a total investment of Rs 100,780 crore. Out of these. Vedanta Aluminium will execute projects worth Rs 37,440 crore. The company will enhance the capacity of its 1 mtpa Lanjigarh smelter in Kalahandi to 6 mtpa. It will also expand the capacity of its aluminium refinery at Jharsuguda in Orissa from 0.25 mtpa to 1.6 mtpa and that of captive power plant (CPP) generation from 367 MW to 967 MW. Among the other new projects cleared include ACC Cement鈥檚 Rs 1,850 crore 3 mtpa cement project along with a 50 MW CPP in Malkangiri district, Bhusan Steel鈥檚 Rs 3,000 crore Steel Park at Meramundali and SPI Ports鈥� Rs 6,600 crore 1,320 MW (2 x 660 MW) power plant at Mahakalpada in Kendrapara district.
