India and Europe will work closely in the field of aviation as the Directorate General of Civil of India (DGCA) and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) inked an agreement to strengthen their bond and to achieve common safety and environmental protection standards. India and Europe will work closely in the aviation world by signing an agreement that could lead to tapping the actual potential of India to grow as a major center for designing and producing aircraft and engines. Aimed at promoting cooperation, understanding of each other鈥檚 regulatory systems and facilitating the exchange of aeronautical products, personnel, and services, the agreement is the outcome of intense negotiations among the two parties over many years and signifies an essential breakthrough in strengthening the relationship between India and Europe in the aviation world, the agreement said. Where a production approval is allowed by one party for the production of an aircraft, propeller, or engine based on design approval issued by the other party in carrying out the roles and responsibilities of the state of design, both parties shall assure that there is an agreement acceptable to them between the manufacturing organisation and organisation accountable for the type design which ensures that the manufacturing organisation has the right of access to the approved design data relevant for manufacturing purposes and the manufacturing organisation cooperates with the organisation accountable for the type design in evaluating the information on the design, manufacture, and operation of the aircraft, engine or propeller concerned, as per the agreement.
