With a projected investment of $100 million in India to build the infrastructure for simulator-based pilot training, flight simulation and solutions provider Simaero will teach about 5,000 pilots over the course of five years, the French firm announced in a statement. The business offers training programmes and flight simulators for commercial aircraft made by Airbus, Boeing, ATR, and Embraer. A significant allocation of Simaero's $100 million investment will go towards building the training centre's infrastructure and producing a skilled labour force in the area. In Delhi, NCR, plans are in motion to build a cutting-edge training centre; completion of the project is anticipated in the fourth quarter of 2024. Across 4,500 square metres, this facility will have eight full-flight simulators, beginning with the A320 NEO and B737NG aircraft types. In order to establish flight simulators and build training facilities for pilot training in India and the South Asian area, Simaero will gradually raise the necessary funds. With record numbers of orders for narrow-body and wide-body aircraft, big Indian airlines like IndiGo and Air India are expanding their fleets dramatically. Simaero foresees a huge need for flight simulator fleets to educate a large number of pilots. The record-breaking aircraft orders, which surpass the existing active fleet, are the driving force behind Simaero's desire to enter the Indian aviation industry. Over 1,200 Airbus and 470 Boeing aircraft are on order with Indian airlines. There are now over 12,000 pilots in India. A new Boeing study estimates that India will require almost three times as many pilots over the next 20 years to accommodate this growth. Khushbeg Jattana will lead Simaero's team in India and is currently overseeing the entire project lifecycle, from initial planning and design to final completion and operationalisation.
