Airport project affected persons to get 22% developed land

In the proposed Navi Mumbai international airport project, CIDCO has decided to increase the percentage of developed land to be given as compensation to the project affected (land owning) people (PAPs). Being the agency implementing the project, CIDCO plans to give 22 per cent of the developed lanf to project affected persons. Of the 2,075 hectare required for the airport, CIDCO has 1,500 hectare while the state handed over 250 hectare and 290 hectare has to be acquired from private parties. With additional requirement for airport related activities, the total size of the private land to be acquired comes up to 600 hectare.
