Air India has signed interline agreements with four prominent airlines from emerging markets, significantly improving connectivity to Europe, especially the Baltic region, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia. These new partnerships will offer passengers seamless travel to 16 additional destinations across six countries, while also opening access to more than 30 Indian cities for customers of the partner airlines.
The agreements were inked with airBaltic, Bulgaria Air, Cyprus Airways, and Uzbekistan Airways during the 81st IATA AGM held in New Delhi.
This collaboration allows travellers to book a single-ticket itinerary combining Air India flights with those of its partners, complete with coordinated baggage allowance and handling, providing smooth intercontinental journeys.
Key one-stop connectivity options include:
- airBaltic: Access to Riga (Latvia), Tallinn (Estonia), and Vilnius (Lithuania) via Air India’s European gateways at Amsterdam, Paris, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, London Gatwick, Milan-Malpensa, Vienna, Zurich, and Dubai.
- Bulgaria Air: Access to Sofia via Air India’s hubs at London Heathrow, Paris, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Milan, Zurich, and Tel Aviv. Passengers can connect onward from Sofia to Varna and Burgas in Bulgaria.
- Cyprus Airways: Access to Larnaca (Cyprus) via Air India’s gateways in Paris, Milan, and Dubai, opening up one of the Mediterranean’s cultural and economic centres for Indian travellers.
- Uzbekistan Airways: Access to Tashkent from Delhi, Mumbai, and Goa-Mopa, with onward connections to Bukhara, Qarshi, Nukus, Urgench, Termez, Samarkand, Fergana, and Namangan.
