Coimbatore airport expansion: Landowners asked to submit docs

Coimbatore Collector G S Sameeran has directed owners of land parcels proposed for acquisition for the Coimbatore international airport expansion project to submit the necessary documents in order to be compensated.

To submit the documents, landowners can visit the special district revenue officer's office on the second floor of the old district collector office building or the special tahsildar's office in the project director office meeting hall on the second floor every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10 am to 1 pm.

According to the collector, the compensationer should bring documents such as the original land registration document, a copy of the mother document, an encumbrance certificate, an ownership document issued by the village administrative officer, a vacant land tax receipt or a house tax receipt, a computer chitta, birth and death certificates if necessary, a bank passbook, an Aadhar card, and a pan card.

The expansion of the airport will necessitate the acquisition of 624.81 acres of land.

The collector revealed that the state government recently approved Rs 1,132 crore for land acquisition.
