Haryana government to invest Rs 946 cr for Hisar Airport

Haryana government plans to invest Rs 946 crore for the construction operation of Maharaja Agrasen International Hisar Airport.
The allocated funds would be spent in the coming three years on various sources to finish the second phase of the airport construction.
The second phase of the Hisar Airport is developing as an Integrated Aviation Hub, which includes constructing a cargo railway line among the passenger lines close to Raipur.
Haryana deputy chief minister, Dushyant Chautala, told the media that the construction work to develop Hisar as an aviation hub is running at an active pace. He said that out of Rs 164 crore, the overall worth, Public Works Department (PWD) is issuing 15% for runaway, airport, and taxiway construction and 75 to 90% of excavation operation of runway and earthwork is completed.
Chautala said that the road linking Talwandi Rana-Dhansu-Mirzapur and Hisar villages is widened now. Therefore, it can be used as an alternative road when Talwandi Rana-Hisar road is closed.
He informed that under the allotted amount, development of 3000-meter runway, including a cat light facility inside the airport, 23-meter wide taxi lane, terminal building, parking stand, cargo terminal, fire station, air traffic control building, maintenance building, boundary wall, and additional buildings including airport security building, domestic cargo building, power-house, public parking space, etc. would be developed.
The deputy CM told the media that 7,200 acres of land is arranged on government land for the airport development. He said 4,200 acres in Hisar has come to the Civil Aviation Department, and the procedure to transfer the remaining 3,000 acres of land is ongoing.
Chautala also mentioned that in the third phase, it is offering to expand the current infrastructure. Including the construction of a 4,000-meter long runway.
He said that the Haryana government is thoughtfully considering the plan to develop other industries around the airport at Hisar. He said that nearly 10,000 acres of land is available in Hisar, and cited it as the best place to develop industries around the aviation hub.
