Kenya aviation union says to strike from over Adani deal

The Kenya Aviation Workers Union announced on Monday that employees of Kenya Airways and the Kenya Airports Authority plan to go on strike starting August 19 due to an investment proposal from the Indian company, Adani Airport Holdings, at the country's main airport.

The strike is expected to cause significant disruption to Kenya's national carrier, Kenya Airways, and operations at Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, a major African travel hub.

Moss Ndiema, the head of the union, indicated that they might reconsider the strike if the Adani Airport Holdings deal is completely abandoned.
