Tata Projects secures Rs 2,100 cr Chennai Peripheral Ring Road project

Tata Projects Limited has bagged Phase I of the Chennai Peripheral Ring Road project worth Rs 2,100 crore, which will connect Ennore Port to Thatchur on AH-45.

The highway project included Link Road to Chennai Outer Ring Road from the Northern Port Access Road. The six-land road network project is 25.31 km, which includes a 1.4 km bridge over Buckingham Canal. The project is to be completed within three years.

Overall the project includes 26 structures, eight major bridges, eight minor bridges, seven vehicles underpasses or vehicles over the pass, two roads over bridges, and one interchange.

The company told the media that the project would also have 29.38 km drains and a 41.88 km retaining wall. The project is likely to reduce traffic congestion and travel time consumption, enhancing road safety and the efficiency of the highways.

The ring road project is expected to provide better connectivity within the city, catering to future traffic requirements, providing efficient transportation and enhancing poet connectivity.

The project has been divided into five sections. The first section is 25.31 km long, connecting the Ennore Port to Thatchur NH-16.

Section two will be 26.20 km long, connecting Thatchur NH-16 to Thiruvallur Bypass NH-716.

The third section will be the longest, more than 30 km long. The network will connect Thiruvallur Bypass NH-716 and Sriperumbudur NH-48.
