TMC plans to construct more internal roads with TTD support

The Tirupati Municipal Corporation (TMC) plans to lay more internal roads with the support of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams. Deputy mayor Bhumana Abhinay Reddy met TTD's joint executive officer V Veerabrahmam and sought the temple trust's approval for pending proposals to lay four new internal roads in the temple city.

The deputy mayor underlined that new internal roads would help decongest traffic in the city and improve the living standards of the people to a great extent.

The proposals put forward by the civic body to the TTD includes laying a 40 feet road connecting the Samavayi Marg and YSR Marg behind Srinivasam complex, a new road connecting the burial ground at Chennareddy colony with Iskcon temple road, three master plan roads connecting SV university with the SV zoo park-Alipiri road and a 40 feet road from Tilak road to Tataiahgunta Gangamma temple viz Jabbar layout and BSNL office in the city.

The TTD trust has been spending aggressively on improving the road infrastructure in and around Tirupati over the last few years. In April this year, the temple trust sanctioned Rs.6.85 crore for providing BT renewal coat and reconstruction of damaged open drains and footpath along the road from Ramanuja circle to Renigunta road in Tirupati.

Earlier in 2017, the Tirupati trust sanctioned Rs.28 crore for the four laning of the Alipiri-Cherlopalli road in a 6.3 km long stretch.
