UP govt approves Rs 428 cr bypass project in Ayodhya

On Thursday, the Uttar Pradesh government approved the Gosaiganj Bazar bypass on the Ayodhya-Akbarpur-Baskhari Road, at a cost of Rs 428 crore.

As a part of the mega plan to further develop Ayodhya, where the development of a grand Ram temple is undertaken, the UP Cabinet nods to the Gosaiganj Bazar bypass project on Ayodhya-Akbarpur-Baskhari Road. The bypass is 5.5 km long.

Additionally, a four-lane Maya Bazaar bypass and Ambedkarnagar Bazaar bypass have also been sanctioned. The Ayodhya-Akbarpur-Baskhari road is being extended into a four-lane road. Once the development gets over, heavy traffic directed for Azamgarh, Mau, Varanasi, Ballia etc, will be redirected to the new bypass roads.

The proposed price of this project is Rs 428 crore. The cabinet passed a proposal for widening and strengthening of the two-lane width paved shoulder of Ayodhya-Billharghat road.

This road is a significant link between pilgrimage sites and will connect theme parks under construction, an international bus station at Ayodhya, a statue of Lord Ram, offered hotels.
