87 structures demolished by BMC for Goregaon-Mulund link road

On March 29, the P North Ward initiated steps to demolish 87 buildings blocking the Goregaon- Mulund link road. The BMC cited this measure as being crucial for easing the traffic strain connecting Mumbai's western and eastern districts. The operation was carried out over a 700-meter area between Dindoshi's Civil and Sessions Court to Film City Marg Intersection. According to a BMC press statement, the road's course inside the boundaries of P North division is now almost completely cleaned.

The ambitious project of building the 12 km long Goregaon Mulund Link Road has been taken on by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation. Out of this distance, the P North Division will be responsible for around 2.8 km of the road. Although the projected width of this route is roughly 45.70 metres, the construction of the road would be hindered by a total of 237 outlying structures that are located inside the P north ward's boundaries.

According to Assistant Commissioner of P North Division, Kiran Dighavkar, almost all the constructions obstructing the Goregaon-Mulund road within the limits of P North Division have now been removed, and this will make it possible for the concerned department to start the widening of the Goregaon Mulund Road.
