Nine specialised vehicles have been purchased by Trichy Corporation to clean roads, drains, and to unclog subterranean drainage sewers. At the corporation's main office, municipal administration minister K N Nehru gave the vehicles their official commission. According to officials, as more areas of the city gradually come under the UGD network, there will be a greater demand for jet-rodder vehicles to clear sewage obstructions brought on by solid waste disposal. The local body purchased five vans with micro jet-rodder machines on board, each with a 3,000 liter storage capacity, for a total of Rs 170 million utilising the 15 th central budget because to the increase in UGD connections for residential and commercial premises.
