Four highway projects worth over Rs 30 billion launched in Rajasthan

Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari has reportedly laid the foundation stone for four national highway projects in Rajasthan. The four highway projects are worth Rs 30 billion. Of the four highway projects, three projects are expected to be established in Bikaner and one in Nagpur district.

Gadkari also inaugurated the Bikaner-Phalodi Section of NH-15 and reportedly, Rs 8.44 billion has been spent on the 159-km long stretch. Also, foundation stones for two other projects, namely national highway from Raisinghnagar to Poogal and Khajuwala to Poogal, and Poogal to Naukha-Bap sections of NH-911 were also laid.

Earlier, Gadkari had also reportedly inaugurated the project of Salasar-Nagaur section of NH-65. Rs 6.37 billion has been spent on the 212-km-long project. These projects are expected to contribute towards improvement of security scenario with better connectivity in border areas.

The 24,000 km highway is expected to be constructed in the first phase of the Bharatmala Project. Besides, 60,000 km of long highways will be reportedly constructed in the tribal, backward and border areas, under the Bharatmala Project.
