Government gives nod to Rs 142 crore Andhra Pradesh highway project

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved a highway project under HAM in Andhra Pradesh. This project includes six-laning of the high-density Narannapeta-Ranastalam section of NH-16. It will also include construction of truck parkings for effortless freight traffic movement. The estimated cost of the highway project is Rs 1,423 crore. This would include the expenditure for acquisition of land and rehabilitation.

Industrial centres of Pydibhimavaram, Bhogapuram Airport, APIIC SEZ, Vizag Steel Plant, INS Varsha, Divi鈥檚 Laboraties, Vizag and Ganagavaram port will be the major beneficiaries of this project and the connectivity it will provide. The project also aims to decongest the area and also reduce travel time through construction of two bypasses and 29 flyovers and underpasses.
