Work on new highway in Kerala begins

In Kerala, work on the proposed Kuttippuram-Puthupponnani National Highway (NH) began on February 10, 2013. The highway will be constructed parallel to the existing NH 17. It will start from Pamba region near to the Kuttippuram bridge and will pass through Ayankalam, Thandilam, before it reaches Puthuponnnani. The state government will construct the 11.4 km stretch of the National Highway from Kuttippuram to Chamravattom and the remaining works have already been completed by the authorities. The government has already sanctioned Rs 38 crore for the work of the highway.
