Construction of Kondamodu Perecherla highway set to commence

The construction of the Kondamodu Perecherla national highway is poised to begin with the initiation of tender procedures by the central government. An allocation of over Rs 10.32 billion has been assigned for the development of this four-lane road, aimed at alleviating traffic congestion on the Guntur-Hyderabad highway. The new four-lane national highway will greatly enhance connectivity between the two states. The Kondamodu Perecherla highway will serve as a crucial link between Chennai and Hyderabad, as the existing highway connecting Hyderabad and Vijayawada has been experiencing heavy traffic. In the initial phase, tenders for civil works worth Rs 6.99 billion are expected to be called by July 25, according to local MP Lavu Krishna Devarayulu.

Devarayulu further emphasised the significant benefits that the construction of the Kondamodu Perecherla national highway would bring to the people of Palnadu. The improved highway infrastructure will enhance connectivity to major cities like Chennai and Hyderabad, facilitating seamless transportation and fostering economic growth in the region. In addition to enhancing connectivity and promoting local businesses, the new highway is expected to contribute to road safety by alleviating traffic congestion and reducing the likelihood of accidents. Devarayulu expressed confidence that the first phase of construction would commence soon, and the necessary measures would be taken to ensure the project's timely completion.

The forthcoming construction of the Kondamodu Perecherla highway signifies a significant step towards enhancing transportation infrastructure, improving connectivity, and addressing traffic challenges in the region, ultimately benefitting the local communities and facilitating smoother travel between important cities.
