The Delhi government has released a notification about a contract inked between the Governments of Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, and Rajasthan coming into the National Capital Region (NCR) on seamless movement of passenger vehicles in the region. The agreement allows for single-point taxation for mass public transport vehicles of state corporations, which will guarantee the smooth movement of passenger vehicles. Lieutenant Governor of the National Capital Territory of Delhi hereby publish the Combined Reciprocal Common Transport Agreement (CRCTA) among the Governments of Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh for unobstructed movement of interstate Contract Carriage and Stage Carriage vehicles in National Capital Region comprising parts of adjoining States to National Capital Territory of Delhi. The CRCTA renders for countersigning of permits and licences for motor cabs, taxis, auto-rickshaws registered in NCR for seamless movement, the news agency said. According to the agency, the idea is aimed at facilitating the development of an effective transport system in the NCR via unrestrained and seamless movement of interstate traffic, a decrease in pollution and reduction of bottlenecks on roads. As per the agreement, contract carriages like cabs and autos will be needed to be countersigned by other participating states.
