Faridabad-Jewar Expressway Gets Approval for Elevated Stretch

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has secured approval to construct an 8.5-km elevated stretch on the Rs 16.5 billion Greenfield Expressway connecting Faridabad to Jewar International Airport. The project cost is now expected to rise by 48% to Rs 24.5 billion.

Construction of pillars for the elevated section has commenced near Sector 65, linking the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway with city roads. However, the funding agreement between NHAI and the Uttar Pradesh government is still pending.

Enhanced Connectivity & Economic Growth The 22-km, six-lane expressway, developed under Bharatmala Pariyojana, will pass through Ballabhgarh, Chandawali, Bahbalpur, Phaphunda, and other villages, boosting regional connectivity and economic activity.

NHAI Project Director Dhiraj Singh stated that the additional budget details are yet to be finalized, as cost-sharing between NHAI and the state government remains undecided.
