Sukhu asked Gadkari to speed up work on the Kiratpur-Manali, Parwanoo-Shimla, Chakki-Mataur-Shimla, and Nalagarh-Swarghat stretches when they met in New Delhi.
He stated that the work on national highways should be finished in a predetermined amount of time. In addition, the chief minister emphasised the construction of flyovers to alleviate traffic congestion and shorten commute times and distances. In light of the upcoming tourist season, he asked the central government to provide funds for highway maintenance.
He continued, "Tourists visiting Himachal are fond of driving, which is why the condition of the roads needs to be improved." He was talking about a wide range of issues related to other schemes that are carried out in Himachal that are funded by the central government.
Sukhu claimed that the Union minister promised him all possible assistance and cooperation on the raised issues.
Earlier in the day, he also laid the foundation stone of 鈥楬imachal Niketan鈥 being built at a cost of Rs 577 million in the capital's Dwarka area to provide accommodation facilities to students and visitors from the state. In addition to the two VIP suites, there will be 40 general suites and 36 general rooms reserved solely for students.
In addition, the staff will have access to three dorms. In addition, the basement will accommodate approximately 53 cars and 87 two-wheelers. There will be a total of 81 rooms.
The chief minister stated in an address to the people that this would be an additional facility in addition to the existing Himachal Bhawan and Himachal Sadan that would provide Himachalis, particularly students traveling to New Delhi for various competitive examinations, with housing.
According to Sukhu, the PWD has been given the mandate to guarantee that the construction will be completed by 2025, in accordance with the deadline. Separately, a brand-new bus service to Chandigarh from Pandoga in the Haroli district of the Una district was inaugurated by state deputy CM Mukesh Agnihotri. He stated that the establishment of a bus service to Chandigarh was a long-standing request from residents of Pandoga, a border village in the Punjabi district of Hoshiarpur, and other Himachal villages adjacent to it.
