GHMC to Build Rs 6.5 Billion Flyovers at IIIT and Khajaguda Junction

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is set to undertake a Rs 6.5 billion infrastructure project to construct multi-level flyovers, grade separators, and underpasses at IIIT Junction and Khajaguda Junction. These developments aim to ease congestion and enhance connectivity in key areas of the city.

As part of the project, GHMC will also widen and upgrade critical roads. A 215-foot stretch from the Cyberabad Police Commissioner鈥檚 office to Gachibowli Junction will be improved, while a 150-foot road from Anjaiah Nagar to Ramky Tower will be expanded for smoother traffic flow.

At Khajaguda Junction, plans include a three-lane flyover from Nanakramguda to Tolichowki and a three-lane underpass connecting Tolichowki to Biodiversity Junction. GHMC has invited bids for surveying, investigation, detailed design, and construction under the EPC model. The selected contractor will also manage utility shifting, including electrical, water supply, sewerage, and communication lines.

Officials expect the project to be completed within two years of signing the agreement, marking a significant upgrade to Hyderabad鈥檚 traffic infrastructure and improving commuter experience.
