Gujarat Approves Rs 30.5 Million for Bhuj Road Revamp

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel approved an allocation of Rs 30.5 million for the resurfacing and strengthening of seven major roads in Bhuj city. This project will cover 14.1 kilometres and aims to improve road conditions, transportation efficiency, and the region's appeal to both residents and tourists.

The decision is part of the state government's ongoing efforts to enhance urban infrastructure and address the growing demand for better connectivity. As Bhuj continues to grow, particularly due to its proximity to Kutch, a popular tourist destination, improved roads are expected to ease daily commuting for locals while attracting more visitors to the region. The project is set to reduce congestion, enhance road safety, and elevate the city's overall aesthetic.

This move complements a larger infrastructure initiative by the state, including a recently approved Rs 778.74 million project to construct major and minor bridges across 32 roads. Over the past two years, Patel has sanctioned more than Rs 2.08 billion for 297 road projects, contributing significantly to Gujarat's vision of strengthening its transportation network and fostering economic growth.

Public response has been largely positive, with local businesses anticipating an increase in tourist traffic and improved logistics. Residents are optimistic that the improved infrastructure will make their daily lives easier, with less traffic congestion and better connectivity across the city. This initiative aligns with Gujarat鈥檚 broader goal of modernising its cities and promoting sustainable growth through better transportation solutions.
