Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah Inspects Highway Projects

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah embarked on a road trip from Mysuru to the Shiradi Ghat landslide site to inspect ongoing highway construction projects in the state. During his visit, he gathered vital information from officials about various infrastructure developments.

As his vehicle approached Bilikere Cross, the Chief Minister received a briefing on the significant four-lane National Highway project spanning 41 kilometers between Bilikere Cross and Yadagondanahalli, with tenders already called for the ?6 billion initiative.

Expressing concerns over road safety, Siddaramaiah directed officials to address potholes along the route to prevent accidents, emphasizing that repairs should be made once the rains subside. While traveling through Doddakadanur in Hole Narasipur taluk, he instructed officials via phone to replace dangerously located electric poles and rectify hazardous wiring.

Additionally, the Chief Minister noted damaged road dividers while passing through Halli Mysuru and urged concerned officers to initiate necessary repairs.

Despite the warm gestures from admirers along the route who offered garlands and shawls to celebrate his birthday, Siddaramaiah declined, stating, ?I do not celebrate my birthday,? as he waved and continued his journey.

Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister announced that Karnataka would construct 100 houses for victims affected by the landslide in Wayanad, Kerala. In a post on X, he expressed solidarity, stating, ?In light of the tragic landslide in Wayanad, Karnataka stands in solidarity with Kerala. I have assured CM Shri @pinarayivijayan of our support and announced that Karnataka will construct 100 houses for the victims. Together, we will rebuild and restore hope.?
