Great news awaits the residents of Tilekarnagar, Kamthenagar, Pansarenagar, and Yewalewadi as the long-awaited relief is finally within reach. The stalled construction work on the Katraj-Kondhwa road is expected to be completed soon, bringing respite to the citizens. Additionally, preparations are underway to commence the construction of the Tilekarnagar-Yewalewadi 24-meter road in the same area, further improving the situation for the residents.
The Standing Committee has given its approval for the tender worth approximately Rs 180 million for this project, marking an important step forward. The citizens of these areas have endured significant inconvenience due to the blockage of the Katraj-Kondhwa road. The road leading to Yewalewadi near ISKCON Mandir Chowk has caused inconvenience due to its narrow and underdeveloped condition. Thankfully, the alternative road connecting Khadi Machine Chowk to Pansarenagar and Yewalewadi has proven to be more convenient for the residents.
This road runs parallel to the route from Khadi Machine Chowk to Bopdev Ghat. The increasing traffic congestion in the area has prompted demands for the swift completion of the roadwork to alleviate the situation.
Although the work on these roads was initiated last year during the monsoon season, only a 200-feet section was completed before coming to a halt. Subsequently, a preliminary estimate of Rs 220 million was prepared for the road construction, and tenders were floated accordingly.
M Saiprabha Construction has successfully secured the tender for Rs 18 crore 29 lakh 20 thousand, which is 16 per cent lower than the pre-calculation sheet. The Standing Committee has given its approval to the tender. The total length of the road is 2 km, with 1,400 meters of the road being 24 meters wide and the remaining 600 meters being 10 meters wide. With the approval of this project, citizens can expect the road to be available for use in the upcoming year.
