NHAI told to speed up repair of Bengaluru-Mangaluru highway

Public Works Minister CC Patil has directed the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to start repair works at the earliest on the stretch of the Bengaluru-Mangaluru National Highway at Addahole of Shiradi Ghat near Sakleshpur, which is in poor shape. This came after a meeting he chaired along with Energy Minister V Sunil Kumar on the issue.

Due its dilapidated condition, commuting along the stretch has become a challenge, Patil said, adding that the department has received several complaints on the issue.

鈥淲orks along the stretch of the road should be started in two days. The situation of the road should improve in the next ten days,鈥 he said last week. Both the ministers said that they would visit the spot soon to assess the works on the ground.
