Noida to get four new underpasses in next four months

In the next three to four months, the Noida Authority plans to complete some of its major infrastructure projects.

The eagerly awaited Sector 71 underpass, which will be finished by August 31 but not open to traffic until September 15, is one of them.

The traffic flow between Wave City Centre Metro Station and Greater Noida will be improved west.

Similarly, the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway's 840 m four-lane underpass in Kondli, Sector 148 鈥 19.40 km from the Mahamaya flyover 鈥 is nearly 80% complete and expected to be operational by November end December. The other two underpasses in Sector 142, about 2.3 km from the Mahamaya flyover, are also about 60% finished.

While the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway's Sector 142 and Sector 148 underpass projects are expected to improve access to sectors on both sides of the highway, the Sector 71 underpass is critical for a seamless connection between Noida's Wave City Centre Metro Station and the Parthala crossing into Greater Noida (West).

According to Rajeev Tyagi, the Noida Authority's chief general manager, the underpass connecting sectors 51, 52, 71, and 72 will be ready by the end of August, but will be open to the public by mid-September once the intersection's road design and planning are completed.

Officials told the media that the Kondli underpass is nearly 80% finished, while the other two underpasses near Sectors 142 metro station and 2.3 km from the Mahamaya flyover, are nearly 60% finished.

The indoor stadium in Sarfabad and the 18 acre Butterfly Park in Sector 117, which includes a cricket pitch, 48 shops, an open-air amphitheatre, and an open parking lot for about 220 cars, are also set to open. According to the official, these should be open to the public by September.
