The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) road department has given instructions to all businesses and agencies, as well as its water supply and drainage departments, to carry out the reinstatement of roads properly in accordance with the issued guidelines after taking serious note of the substandard restoration work that resulted in pothole-ridden roads for the majority of last year. The PMC road department in particular has given the water supply and drainage departments instructions to minimise the digging work and focus instead on repaving the roads before the monsoon. Executive engineer for the road department Sahebrao Dandge stated, We have given strong directions to all businesses and agencies, together with the water supply and drainage departments, to carry out road reinstatement in accordance with the circular issued by the road department. We have provided all agencies and PMC departments with technical standards and schematics.
