The Uttar Pradesh government plans to develop a 25 km road to join GT Road, also called National Highway 91, with the planned international airport at Jewar.
The four-lane road will increase connectivity between Bulandshahr and Jewar, authorities said, adding the GT Road passes via Dadri in Greater Noida.
The state government has ordered the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) to work on a multi-modal connectivity project to join the Jewar airport with the rest of the Delhi-NCR cities, comprising Meerut, Bulandshahr, Delhi, Ghaziabad and Faridabad, said the authorities.
Arun Vir Singh, chief executive officer, YEIDA, told the media that to link NH 91, also called GT Road, with the Noida International Airport, the UP government has proposed a 25-km road. The government has directed the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to operate on this new link that will enhance connectivity between Khurja or Bulandshahr and Jewar. Now, the NHAI will make a detailed project report and work on it.
Meanwhile, the Integrated Industrial Township Greater Noida Limited (IITGNL) has decided to construct a four-lane 2.5 km road and an underpass on NH-91 near Shiv Nadar University to link the planned logistics centre at Greater Noida鈥檚 Bodaki with the highway. Additionally, one interchange is proposed at Dankaur village on the Eastern Peripheral Expressway (EPE), and the other is proposed at Sirsa village on the expressway that crosses NH-91 and the Yamuna Expressway, officials told the media.
Narendra Bhooshan, CEO of IITGNL and Greater Noida authority, told the media that the interchange at Sirsa will link a 130 m wide Greater Noida road with the EPE and the interchange at Dankaur will connect the EPE with the Yamuna Expressway that reaches till Jewar airport site. It means Greater Noida鈥檚 logistics centre, transport hub and integrated Industrial Township will experience smooth connectivity with the airport once these projects are constructed.
