Yogi Approves Rs 7 Bn for Gorakhpur Roads to Boost 4-Lane Links

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conducted an on-site inspection of the ongoing Herbert Bandha Four-Lane Road project in Gorakhpur and announced the approval of infrastructure works valued at over Rs 7 billion, according to ANI.

During the inspection, the Chief Minister addressed the public and highlighted that the infrastructure developments would significantly enhance both passenger and freight traffic in the region.

He pointed out that earlier, there was no system in place to facilitate movement from Herbert Bandha to Domingarh due to the railway line, making it impossible for people to travel from Herbert Bandha to the Madhopur embankment. He mentioned that a new system was now being developed, which would include a four-lane road stretching from Transport Nagar to Domingarh, along with a new railway overbridge in Domingarh.

Adityanath further noted that following this, efforts would be made to connect Herbert Bandha to the Madhopur embankment via a four-lane road extending to Maheshra. He said this would provide seamless four-lane connectivity from the outskirts of Gorakhpur to Maheshra, benefiting both commuters and goods transportation.

The project rollout includes three major components: a new railway overbridge at Domingarh with a budget allocation of Rs 1.32 billion; a 10-kilometre road section from Domingarh to Maheshra via Madhopur, estimated at Rs 3.80 billion; and a 4-kilometre four-lane stretch from Rajghat Bridge to Domingarh, costing Rs 1.95 billion.

With a total investment exceeding Rs 7 billion, the Chief Minister stated that these three infrastructure projects would significantly boost transportation and ease travel in and around Gorakhpur.
