Contract for Bangalore Metro purple line extension finalised

The contractor who will build the Nagasandra (Hesaraghatta cross) to Bengaluru International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) section of the North-South line has been finalised by Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL). Even though the name of the winning bidder has not been known, the work order is expected to be issued any time soon.
 
This is the fourth major contract that has been awarded under Phase-II. Although the tender documents set Rs 247.41 crore as the cost of the project, the final bid is not yet known. The tender also set 27 months for completion, which is around mid-2019.
 
This 3.03-km elevated line, Reach 3C of Phase-II, will have three stations 鈥� Manjunathanagar, Jindal and BIEC 鈥� all of them on Tumakuru Road. Once completed, the Purple Line will extend from BIEC in the north to Anjanapura Township in south Bengaluru.
