The announcement was made that the detailed project report for the metro rail route and stations from Poonamallee to the greenfield airport, planned at Parandur, would be completed by the end of 2024, as the lowest bidder to prepare it had been identified. Once the contract was signed, the firm would prepare the DPR for the extension of the metro line, covering approximately 43.63 km with 19 stations.
