Delhi Metro Phase Four Work Progresses, 70 Per Cent Complete

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation鈥檚 (DMRC) phase four expansion has gained momentum, with more than 70 per cent of civil construction completed across its three priority corridors.

A significant milestone is the near-completion of the 4.6 km Majlis Park to Jagatpur Village stretch, which includes three new stations鈥擝urari, Jharoda Majra, and Jagatpur Village. Trial runs began in December 2024, and the section will open following statutory clearances. DMRC also reported major tunnel breakthroughs on the Aerocity-Tughlakabad corridor: Chhatarpur Mandir to IGNOU (1,475 metres and 1,460 metres) and Kishangarh to Vasant Kunj (1,550 metres).

Phase four鈥檚 first section, Janakpuri West-Krishna Park Extension, opened on 5 January. Work also commenced on the Rithala-Kundli corridor, a critical link. Phase four adds approximately 112 km to Delhi Metro鈥檚 network.

Indian Railways Clears Survey for New Line in Sikkim

The Ministry of Railways has approved a Final Location Survey for a proposed railway line in Sikkim, connecting Melli to Dentam via Jorethang and Legship. The Rs 22.5 Mn survey will be conducted by Northeast Frontier Railway to assess technical and financial feasibility.The planned 75-kilometre corridor aims to improve rail access in the under-served southern and western regions of Sikkim. Southern Railway to Add AC EMU Train on Chennai鈥揅hengalpattu Route

Southern Railway has announced plans to introduce an additional air-conditioned electric multiple unit (AC EMU) train on the Chennai Beach鈥揅hengalpattu suburban route. Adani Power Secures 1,500 MW Thermal Project in Uttar Pradesh

Adani Power has received a Letter of Award from Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited to supply 1,500 megawatts of electricity for twenty-five years.
