Haryana approves two rapid rail projects

The Haryana government approved two rapid rail projects on Monday, the Delhi-Gurugram-Behror rapid rail project and the Delhi-Panipat rapid rail project. These projects will improve connectivity between Delhi, Gurugram, Rajasthan and Panipat.

The Delhi-Gurugram-Behror project will be 107km long and is being developed by the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC). The NCRTC has already started pre-construction work on the project and has sought land from the Haryana government for a maintenance and operational shed.

The Delhi-Panipat rapid rail project will be 103km long and will have 16 stations. There will be two depots planned in Murthal and Panipat.

The approval of these projects is a major step forward in improving connectivity in the Delhi-NCR region. The projects are expected to be completed in three phases, with the first phase being completed by 2025.

The rapid rail projects are also expected to boost economic growth in the region. The Delhi-Gurugram-Behror project is expected to generate around 100,000 jobs during construction and around 20,000 jobs once it is operational. The Delhi-Panipat rapid rail project is expected to generate around 50,000 jobs during construction and around 10,000 jobs once it is operational.

The approval of these projects is a welcome development for the people of Delhi, Gurugram, Rajasthan and Panipat. The projects will improve connectivity and boost economic growth in the region.
