IRCTC plans to launch executive lounge in New Delhi railway station

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) is eyeing the launch of another executive lounge at the New Delhi railway station.

An official told the media that the lounge would provide all the services and facilities for a comfortable journey of the passengers during pre-departures and post-arrivals.

He also said that the lounge had been designed similar to the airport lounge with much space and a serene environment.

The lounge will be set up on the New Delhi railway station platform number 1 and will soon be functional.

The official said that the new lounge would provide wide complementary and paid services to the passengers like music channel, WiFi facility, television, train information display, beverages and cuisines. It will also have recliners, wide luggage racks, restrooms, washrooms, changing rooms, shoe shiners, magazines and newspapers on display, and business space with a computer, printer, fax and photostat facility.

To access the entire lounge, passengers will have to pay Rs 150 as entry fees, and Rs 99 will be charged for staying every extra hour.

Bath facilities are available separately for men and women at Rs 200 inclusive of taxes. It will offer high-quality toiletries, including shampoo, soap, towels, shower caps and dental kits.

The lounge will provide vegetarian and non-vegetarian cuisines as buffets ranging from Rs 250 to Rs 385 per person.

It will also provide an all-inclusive package offer for the passengers using the executive lounge at Rs 600, including two hours stay, bath and change facility and one buffet meal.

IRCTC plans to open executive lounges at the railway stations of Jaipur, Agra, Ahmedabad, Sealdah and Madurai. It wants to set up executive lounges in all major states and capitals in future.
