L&T urged to expedite Mallige line in Bengaluru rail

Gaurav Gupta, the Additional Chief Secretary and Managing Director of Rail Infrastructure Development Company (Karnataka), urged the contractor firm Larsen and Toubro to accelerate the progress on the Mallige Line (Corridor-2) of the Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project, stretching from Benniganahalli to Chikkabanavara. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had set a 40-month deadline for the project's completion. With more than 12 months already passed, K-RIDE aimed to expedite construction activities to meet the specified deadlines.

In light of this, Gupta convened a review meeting with the executives from L&T and officials from K-RIDE to provide necessary directives. During the meeting, Gupta requested the L&T executives to increase the workforce, ensuring the project's timely completion. He inquired about the progress made in overcoming obstacles, especially concerning land acquisition.
