Metro to Link Diva Bullet Train Station with Thane

Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced a proposal for a Metro line linking the bullet train station at Diva with Thane city and railway station. "Diva is a rapidly growing suburb and is set to become an important transport hub. We are considering a Metro line that will connect the bullet train station with Majiwada, which will also link with Thane railway station," Shinde said while addressing a public gathering in Diva.

Former Diva corporator and Deputy Mayor Ramakant Madavi confirmed that the project is in its early stages and that a feasibility study will be conducted shortly.

Shinde's team representative explained that this essential connection between the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train and the Central Railway suburban network could be implemented by either Maha Metro or the MMRDA, once the preliminary phases are completed. "Connecting the bullet train station with Thane city and railway station is crucial, and the proposed route could also integrate the Thane-Bhiwandi and Kalyan-Taloja metro lines, along with linking neighbouring suburbs like Mumbra and Kalwa," he added.
