NHSRCL floats tender for MAHSR鈥檚 Sabarmati depot construction

The National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) has invited bids for the development of the Sabarmati rolling stock depot for the 508 km Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) project.

Sushma Gaur, the NHSRCL spokesperson, informed that it invited bids for construction, design, installation, testing and commissioning of Sabarmati Depot, including workshop, inspection sheds, several buildings, maintenance facilities and related works.

The NHSRCL office would have the bidding reports available from 10 am to 5 pm on each working day from August 4 to December 1, and the last date to submit bids is December 2, 2021.

The operational control station for Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail would be Sabarmati. At first, trains would only have ten coaches and a seating limit of 750 passengers, which moreover would be expanded to 16 coaches and a seating capacity of 1,250 passengers.

There would be 35 trains in one direction per day, one train after every 20 minutes in peak hours, and one train every 30 minutes in non-peak hours.

Train frequency would be increased to one train every eight minutes in future. In one way, MAHSR would manage 17,900 passengers, which would be increased further to 92,900 passengers in future.
