NMRC approves over Rs 200 cr budget for metro project

The Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) approved a Rs 287.62 crore budget for FY 2022-2023 and gave passed an order for an internal audit report.

With this approval and allocation of the budget, the construction of flyovers will facilitate passengers movement between Noida-Greater Noida and the Metro lines was taken.

In the 31st board meeting, two new foot-over-bridge (FOB) were to be built between Sector 51 Aqua Line and Sector 52 Blue metro line. A new metro route between Sector 51 in Noida to Knowledge Park-5 in Greater Noida West was taken.

Managing Director of NMRC and CEO of Noida Authority, Ritu Maheshwari, said that the Board discussed expediting the approval of the detailed project report (DPR) from Aqua Line Sector 51 in Noida to Knowledge Park V in Greater Noida by May 2022 for ease of commuters and ridership enhancement.

Maheshwari added that the NMRC Board was also informed that the FOB between Sector 51 and 52 metro stations would be developed by the Noida Authority and estimated to complete in a year.

Currently, the Aqua Line has a daily average ridership of 16,065 passengers, which declined during the Covid-19 pandemic.
