No Obstacles in Land Acquisition For Patna Rail Metro Project

District magistrate (DM) Chandrashekhar Singh on Monday said that for the construction of the Metro Rail Depot, total 75.945 acres land was acquired in 82 plots in Ranipur and Pahari Mauja area of Patna. Reviewing the land acquisition and transfer to the ambitious project here, the DM said Rs 2.55 billion was paid to 268 landowners, and an amount of Rs 1.24 billion was deposited with the authority as per the provisions. He also instructed the district land acquisition officer to expedite the payment of compensation to the remaining landowners. "There are no issues with the construction of the Mithapur viaduct station. The structure on the acquired land was removed on July 29 this year. For the New ISBT Metro Station in Pahari Mauja, 100per cent payment was made to the landowners. Possession was already handed over to the department concerned. Possession of land for Jaganpura metro station, Ramkrishna, PU, PMCH, and Mithapur viaduct was also handed over to the authorities," Singh said. He further stated that there were no obstacles in land acquisition. "Almost all land transfer cases for the metro project were processed at the district level and forwarded to the department for further action. Occasionally, minor issues arise, which are being promptly addressed by the sub-divisional officers and sub-divisional police officers," the DM said. Various issues related to the construction of the Patna Metro were discussed in detail, and necessary instructions were given during the meeting. Reviewing the ongoing work of the metro project, Singh said the progress of the ongoing civil work of Patna metro rail was overall satisfactory. Progress was reviewed at various metro sites, including Mauja Pahari and Ranipur, New ISBT, Jaganpura, Ramkrishna Nagar, Mithapur, Akashvani, Gandhi Maidan, PMCH, PU, Moin-ul-Haq Stadium, Rajendra Nagar, Khemnichak, Bhootnath, Patna metro yard, Raja Bazaar, Patna Junction, Rukanpura, and Patna Zoo.
