The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) to Range Hill station portion of the 12.064-km elevated metro rail route was completed by the Pune Metro. The Phugewadi station to Civil court trial run will now begin.

The 12.064 km of the Pune Metro Corridor I between PCMC Station and Range Hill Station is elevated, and the remaining distance is underground until Swargate.

The final section of this elevated 12.064-km stretch was launched. The metro train's test run can now be done along the route from Phugewadi Station to Civil Court Station. After the test run, passengers will be able to travel from Phugewadi station to Civil Court station.

For the 12.064 km elevated track from PCMC Station to Range Hill Station, a total of 3,934 segments were cast, and 451 spans were built to connect them. In October 2017, the first metro pillar along this route was built.

3,934 segments were made in a sizable casting yard that was set up at Nashik Phata. This route's first necessary segment was built in August 2017 and its final segment was built in October 2022.

Managing Director of Maha Metro Brijesh Dixit stated, 鈥淭oday is an important milestone for Pune Metro. The viaduct of the 12.064-km elevated line from PCMC Station to Range Hill Station is getting completed on schedule. Soon work of Phugewadi Station to Civil Court Station and Garware College Station will be completed and metro trials will extend till Civil Court station route.鈥

To finish this 12.064-km elevated route, several challenges had to be overcome. The biggest challenge was getting land from the Army from Harris Bridge to Khadki. In July 2022, after ongoing follow-ups with the Army, the land was finally allotted. Despite the delay in acquiring land, work went on as planned from Phugewadi station to Harris Bridge and Range Hill station to Khadki.

According to officials, construction on the stations connecting Phugewadi and Garware College to the civil court is anticipated to be finished by November 30. The launch of the final segment met the goal set, according to the officials.
