Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated multiple railway projects in Madhya Pradesh costing over Rs 23 billion. The foundation stone was laid for the reconstruction of Gwalior railway station, as well as electrification and gauge change operations. At a cost of Rs 5.34 billion, the Gwalior railway station would be renovated into a world-class facility. This modernisation project has a total built-up area of 48,061 sqm. The station's reconstruction promises an improved passenger experience with world-class facilities. The station will have better lighting, elevators and escalators for easy access, and proper wayfinding and signage. The railway station's renovation would provide upgraded amenities and services, such as a spacious roof plaza, waiting areas, and recreational facilities for passengers. Rewa-Itwari-Rewa train service:- During his visit to the state, the Prime Minister also inaugurated train services between Rewa and Itwari. The train will operate four days a week. It will leave Rewa at 17:20 hrs and arrive in Itwari at 08:40 hrs the next day. It will depart Itwari at 17:30 hrs and arrive in Rewa at 08:20 hrs the following day. The railway would provide convenient access to Madhya Pradesh's industrial centres, educational centers, and must-see tourism spots. It would also help to increase tourism in Maharashtra. Chhindwara-Nainpur-Chhindwara train services:- The Prime Minister also announced the commencement of two additional train routes. The train has 12 coaches to provide a more comfortable travel experience. The operation of this new train will pave the way for regional development and tourism expansion. Projects for electrification include: The state has completed the electrification of the existing Broad Gauge rail network, which covers 4,811.15 route kilometers. The electrification of the railway lines Mahoba-Khajuraho-Udaipura and Birlanagar-Udi Mor was just finished. The 196-kilometer-long Mahoba-Khjuraho-Udaipura railway line cost Rs 1.73 billion to build, while the 103-kilometer-long Birlanagar-Udi Mor railway line cost Rs 1.11 billion to finish. The electrification projects will minimize CO2 emissions and running expenses. Gauge conversion:- The Chhindwara-Nainpur-Mandla Fort gauge conversion project was also dedicated by PM Modi. This 183-kilometer long conversion project was completed for Rs 15.04 billion. This will enable broad gauge rail connectivity in tribal districts, opening up chances for employment, economic growth, and development. It will also make it easier for tourists to visit Kanha National Park.
